born in Halifax, England, to Irish parents; a pre and post wall Berliner, after first visiting the city in 1982 he began living there in 1989; since 1999 he has taught and continues to teach at the University of Arts (Berlin); he currently works for the University of Huddersfield as a study mentor and with gratitude to the assistance of the Royal Literary Fund he continues to write creatively.
